The Helmholtz Alliance Analysis Centre

Thomas Schörner-Sadenius (DESY)
Seminar Room 3, 15:00

The Helmholtz Alliance "Physics at the Terascale" is a network of DESY
and almost 20 universities which was founded in order to boost German
particle physics, with a focus on the activities at the LHC and the ILC.
The Analysis Centre within the Alliance supports all analysis-related
efforts, concentrating on aspects of general importance like Monte Carlo
generators, statistics tools, and parton distribution functions. In addition,
the Centre provides training, education and workshops from the beginners'
to the expert level. In this presentation, the Analysis Centre, its current
structure and activities as well as future plans will be discussed. The aim
is to establish the idea of the Centre among all DESY particle physicists
and to highlight the advantages of the Centre for both DESY and the
general HEP community in Germany.
