From hits to the Higgs

The discovery of the Higgs boson in 2012 would not have been possible without efficient reconstruction of leptons and photons in the ATLAS detector. We still rely on excellent reconstruction of these objects when we perform Higgs boson property measurements. These measurements are crucial probes in the search for physics beyond the Standard Model. Highlighting the role of electron reconstruction and identification I will discuss cross section measurements in the H->ZZ*->4l decay channel.
