Recent SUSY results from the LHC

The LHC experiments have wide physics programs to find evidence for strongly or weakly produced supersymmetric particles. Current experimental challenges include searches for the putative supersymmetric partners of the higgs boson, the higgsinos, which are key to naturalness. Recent results from ATLAS and CMS explore for the first time higgsinos beyond LEP limits (15 years ago). Non-vanilla supersymmetry represents a different challenge. Several mechanisms can lead to massive long-lived particles. Models with R-parity violation can cause signatures without or only little missing transverse momentum. The colloquium gives a brief survey of recent supersymmetry results, with a focus on the experimental challenges, and discusses potential gaps in the search program.
