A review of latest developments in PDFs

In this talk I will describe recent progress in the determination of the partondistribution functions (PDFs) of the proton. After arguing why an accurate knowledge of PDFsis important, particularly for LHC physics, I will discuss the recent work of groups producing PDFsfrom global fits, and highlight some of the issues. Some examples of how PDFswill be used at the LHC will be given.
