The top quark is the heaviest particle in the Standard Model and the precise value of its mass plays an important role in validating the Standard Model via precision measurements. We present the current status of the mass measurements of the top quark and show how well its mass can be measured at a future linear collider. Furthermore, we discuss the conversion of the mass between different renormalization schemes and assess the resulting uncertainties.
