The absence of unambiguous signal of New Physics at the LHC might indicate that new particles are either very heavy or they are light and interact very feebly with the Standard Model world, hence they are "dark". This second option has received an increasing attention in the last few years, both at CERN and worldwide, and is currently one possible strategic direction proposed for the next update of the European Strategy for Particle Physics. I will review the status of field with special focus on projects proposed at CERN.
