Report of the Particle Physics Project Prioritization Panel 2023

Beate Heinemann (DESY)
Auditorium (DESY Hamburg) and Zoom, 16:00h

Every 5-10 years the United States arrange a process that has the goal of prioritising the funding for science projects that the US physicists are engaged in. The entire field of particle physics and neighbouring fields first discusses science opportunities in a so-called snowmass process, that results in a large number of ideas and proposals summarised by working group conveners for the various areas. Then the HEPAP committee commissions a subpanel called "P5" to evaluate the science opportunities and prioritise them under various budget scenarios suggested by the funding agencies. After several town hall meetings earlier this year the P5 committee has released its report last week. This will be presented.

This is a hybrid colloquium.
