B Physics: New Physics and the Next Generation

Tom Browder (Hawaii Univ.)
DESY Auditorium, 16.45 h

I will discuss the recent excitement in flavor physics and the possibility of a novel path to establishing new physics (NP). Topics include a review of CP violation, decays that are sensitive to charged Higgs bosons and angular anomalies in
B->K* l+ l-. Recent progress on Belle II/SuperKEKB, the prime example of a next generation flavor physics facility, as well as its broad range of NP capabilities will be discussed. The important role of Germany in the Belle II experiment will also be briefly described.
