Neutrino oscillations: an exciting scientific adventure

Undoubtedly, neutrino physics has provided the most impressive progress in our understanding of particle physics in the last fifteen years.
It is matter of facts that this progress has been dominated by the discovery of neutrino oscillations, a phenomenon that still must be understood in all its implications.
The talk will trace the history of neutrino oscillations, from the first weak, elusive indications to the most exciting discoveries, as the result of a formidable effort of several hundreds of physicists in the world.
Particular attention will be paid also to the present state of the art and to the prospects.
