The Art of the Impossible: Probing, Challenging Higgs Channels at the LHC

Heather Gray (UC Berkeley / LBNL)
Zoom Hamburg, 16.45 h

The search for the Higgs boson was central to the conception and design of the LHC detectors. However, measurements of the Higgs coupling to third-generation quarks were not thought to be possible during Run 1 of the LHC. Scientific ingenuity and original thought have led ATLAS and CMS to exceed expected sensitivity and publish significant results in all three. I will discuss the techniques which were used to achieve this and provide a perspective on future directions in Higgs physics.
