Experimental General Relativity

Barak Kol (Jerusalem)
DESY Hörsaal, 17:00h

It used to be said that Einstein's Gravity (or General Relativity - GR) was a theorist's paradise but an experimentalist's hell. Today the last clause is no longer true, as the number of experiments is large and growing. In this talk we shall review the evolution of experimental GR from its early origins including Eddington's expedition to current "big science" searches for black holes, for gravitational waves and for the determination of cosmological parameters, finally ending with exciting future plans and theoretical speculations.
